What’s on the North Carolina Real Estate Exam?

To keep it short, there are 100 national questions and 40 state specific questions. You will have 2.5 hours to complete the national section and 1.5 hour to complete the state specific section. If you are wondering how much time that gives you per question, the answer is 1 minute and 30 seconds for the national questions and 2 minutes and 15 seconds for state specific questions respectively.

Generally speaking, if you are well-prepared, this should give you enough time to read and answer all the questions on the exam. It is no walk in the park but it is definitely doable. Furthermore, to pass the exam you need to answer 71 questions correctly from the national portion and 29 questions from the state portion. In the event that you fail one of the two sections, you only have to retake the one that you failed. Therefore, you won’t have to retake the whole exam.

Is the North Carolina Real Estate Exam hard?

If it was easy, everybody would do it. No, seriously you can’t underestimate the North Carolina real estate licensing exam. While a lot of students are able to pass the NC real estate exam on their first attempt, we wouldn’t say that it is easy by any mean. However, if you have freshly passed the 75-hour broker pre-licensing course and you have completed an exam prep course with success, you should be prepared to take the North Carolina Real Estate licensing Exam.
